The next time you go to the store, you could see a Hot Wheels model with your design on it. That is, if you enter the new design contest that has been launched on the toy’s video game.

The Hot Wheels Unleashed Design Battle seeks to have players create the most attractive and impressive paint job using the game’s livery editor. Entrants must use the Rodger Dodger model, which has muscle car design cues (and isn’t a real model made by an automaker who might get upset with Mattel).

The designs will be judged by a panel of Mattel’s world-class designers, including Ted Wu, VP and global head of vehicle design, Bryan Benedict, director of product design, Dmitriy Shakhmatov, manager of product design, and Jerry Thienprasiddhi, the company’s principal graphic designer.

To inspire the community and to give you an idea of what’s possible using the editor, Mattel has turned to digital artists to design a pair of liveries for the car. Van Orton Design and Oskunk have designed two pop-art wonders.

Van Orten Design is made up of a pair of twins from Italy who reimagine pop culture brands and icons with their colorful and geometric work. Their car is above and they’re no strangers to working in the automotive space, having previously worked with Mercedes, BMW, and Nissan.

Oskunk, meanwhile, is a French pop artist with a maximalist style inspired by graffiti, whose work is well known in the gaming community. His design, above, shows elements of that style with plenty of script, paint splotches, and more.

The contest will take place from January 14 to February 14, and the winner will be selected by February 28. Entry is free and you can read the terms and conditions on Hot Wheels Unleashed’s website.
