When the Dodge Challenger returned in 2008, it was an extremely influential car, and quite possibly the best product to come out of the early 2000’s retro design trend. But as good a car as it may be, is a basically new 2008 Challenger worth the cost of an actually new example from 2022? That’s the question you have to ask yourself with this 23-mile 2008 Challenger, which is listed for sale on eBay for $48,900.

That kind of money could buy you a brand new Scat Pack, or for only $495 over budget, a Scat Pack Widebody. You could even buy a used Hellcat and still have a few thousand dollars to spare.

Nevertheless, this car is about as desirable as it gets for what it is, seeing as it’s the first model year of the reintroduced Challenger, has virtually no mileage, and is in the launch spec of Hemi Orange paint with a carbon fiber vinyl stripes and silver wheels. More specifically, it’s number 6,305 of only 6,400 Challengers produced for the USA in that first model year, only adding to its value.

Powering the Challenger is a 6.1-liter Hemi V8, which sends 425 hp (431 PS / 313 kW) and 420 lb-ft (569 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels by way of a five-speed automatic transmission. The car also has keyless entry, heated front seats, navigation, Sirius satellite radio, a 3.06 axle ratio, and a 13-speaker Kicker SRT sound system that includes a 322-Watt amplifier and a 200-Watt subwoofer.

However, as desirable as this car may prove to be, the question still stands: is it worth the money? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
