This K5 Blazer Is Actually A Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 Underneath

Flat Out Autos’ modern-day interpretation of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer is one of the more interesting we’ve seen in the past six months and now the example that debuted at SEMA is looking for a new home.

The aftermarket specialist created this K5 Blazer by starting off with a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 and then set about absolutely transforming it. Indeed, the SUV has undergone so many modifications that it’s almost impossible to tell what it used to be.

For starters, the four-door Tahoe has been transformed into a two-door model. This was done by completely removing the standard bodywork and cutting out a section from the center of its structure, reducing the length of the wheelbase. Sitting where the rear doors once were are enlarged side windows with a very dark tint.

Flat Out Autos then started work on the SUV’s bodywork, crafting most new panels from steel with the exception of the tailgate which is made from carbon fiber. Found upfront is a Blazer-inspired grille and headlights surrounded by chrome trimmings and a chrome bumper. The Tahoe also sits on custom 20-inch Cutis Speed wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires with white lettering.

The Barrett-Jackson listing shows that a two-tone paint scheme combining blue and white has then been applied to the SUV. Significant modifications have also been made to the inside of the Chevy with the second row of seats removed completely and leaving behind just the small third-row seats.

No changes have been made to the SUV’s powertrain, meaning it continues to be driven by a 5.3-liter V8 pumping out 355 hp at 5,600 rpm and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque at 4,100 rpm. Coupled to this engine is a six-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels.
