Mercedes-AMG is continuing to celebrate their 55th anniversary and the latest model marking the occasion is the GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition that was announced for the European market.

Since the vehicle is the brand’s “most powerful production model to date thanks to technology transfer from Formula 1,” Mercedes is paying tribute with what is essentially a €23,800 ($25,109 / £20,104) package that leaves the powertrain unchanged.

That’s pretty pricey, but the F1 Edition features an exclusive Manufaktur alpine grey exterior with AMG lettering as well as a color gradient that fades from grey to black. They’re joined by red accents and 21-inch forged wheels with a matte black finish.

The model comes equipped with an AMG Aerodynamics package, which includes a high-gloss black rear wing and an optimized diffuser. The package also adds a larger front splitter and air deflectors.

Buyers will also find the AMG Night and Night II packages, which add high-gloss black accents, a black chrome exhaust, and dark tinted glass. They’re joined by a dark grille and black chrome badging. Furthermore, there’s a silver chrome fuel filler cap with “AMG” lettering.

Moving into the cabin, buyers will find black nappa leather AMG Performance seats with red contrast stitching. Elsewhere, there are red seatbelts, carbon fiber trim with red accents, and AMG door sill plates with red illumination. Rounding out the highlights are special floor mats and an “exclusive Edition badge.”

Last but not least, buyers will receive an indoor car cover that features the F1 logo as well as an “antistatic inner fabric made of flannel.” The latter is designed to protect the vehicle from dust and scratches.

While the styling changes are interesting to note, the GT 63 S E Performance is all about the powertrain. It features a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, a rear-mounted electric motor, and a 6.1 kWh battery pack. This setup gives the car a combined output of 831 hp (620 kW / 843 PS) and more than 1,032 lb-ft (1,400 Nm) of torque.

Thanks to those generous numbers, the model can rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 196 mph (316 km/h). The range-topping GT is also eco-friendly as it can travel 12 km (7.5 miles) on electricity alone.
