We’ve seen some pretty bizarre road accident videos over the years but this particular one, thought to have been filmed in Glendale, California, is one of the most bizarre.

The clip that was shared on Reddit was filmed by a house’s security camera and starts off by showing a black Ford Explorer cruising down the road, passing in between numerous cars. As the Explorer then approaches a small intersection, a blue Chevrolet C4 Corvette comes into view, looking to make a right turn into the same street as the Explorer.

Remarkably, the driver of the Ford fails to take notice of the Corvette and ends up making a left-hand turn, directly into the path of the C4. The motorist was so blissfully unaware of their surroundings that they actually drive up onto the front end of the ‘Vette and casually drive over the entire sports car.

If you look closely, you’ll notice that the wheels of the Explorer roughly follow the shoulder line of the Corvette and smash the driver’s side window.

It’s difficult to tell how much damage was done to the Corvette through this video alone. However, its bodywork appears to have held up quite well and it may only need a new window, wing mirror, and some touch-up paint to return it to its former glory.

We initially had difficulty in explaining how the driver of the Explorer could have missed the Chevy so blatantly. However, a closer look reveals that the driver was holding their phone at the time and either typing on it or holding it in front of their face during a call. This was obviously enough to take their attention away from the road and cause the crash.
