Honda Wastes No Time In Revealing Body Kit And Accessories For Japan’s New ZR-V

It was revealed earlier today that what Americans will call the HR-V will be sold in Japan as the ZR-V, and Honda has already unpacked the accessories that it will sell for the domestic-market version of the compact crossover.

Presented on two show cars, the brand has released nine “Genuine Accessories” that will be available to future customers buying the ZR-V. These are: a front lower skirt, LED fog light and garnish, side lower garnish, a black tailgate spoiler, a rear license garnish, door mirror covers, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a black emblem.

Seen together, they actually make the Japanese market ZR-V look a little more like the U.S. market HR-V. That’s because the North American model comes as-standard with a number of black plastic details, likely designed to make it look more rugged and live up to our conceptions of what an SUV should be.

Indeed, the stock ZR-V is notable for its design restraint, featuring body color mirrors, grille flourishes, and side skirts. The side garnishes offered as accessories, as well as the LED light garnishes actually both add some contrasting darkness, making it look more like its foreign market equivalents, albeit with yellow fog lights.

Even the aluminum-style front lip makes it look more like the U.S. market version, which has a similarly colored, though differently shaped, front lip. The side mirror colors are also black and have previously been seen on the HR-V.

The 19-inch wheels, however, appear to be different than the ones shown on the HR-V or the Chinese-market ZR-V, which is another version of the same crossover. Overall, though, it seems like American customers will be getting a lot of visual bang for their buck in terms of visual accessories, since many of these come as stock on the HR-V.

For now, though, it’s all academic, because Honda is only releasing the genuine accessories information for now. The ZR-V will be unleashed on the Japanese market in the fall of 2022.
