Dacia announced the return of the Duster Extreme SE in the UK range for 2023, since the range-topper accounted for nearly 20 percent of Duster sales year-to-date. The special edition gains the new emblem as with the rest of the Dacia lineup, while becoming slightly more expensive.

The Duster Extreme SE was originally introduced last February for the 2022 MY based on the facelifted Duster. However, things have moved on since, with Dacia incorporating its new brand identity into its models. Thus, the 2023 MY features a revised grille with the new DC emblem and new Dacia lettering on the tailgate and on the steering wheel.

The model retains the black 17-inch alloy wheels and orange accents on the mirrors, roof bars, tailgate, and interior (air vents, stitching, door trim). The only difference in the exterior spec besides the badging is the darker Monolith Grey finish on the skid plates and roof bars. Equipment includes the 8-inch Media Nav with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic air conditioning, heated front seats, Multiview camera, rear parking sensors, and keyless entry. Those who want a sophisticated ADAS suite will have to look elsewhere.

The Extreme SE is available with the entire range of powertrains including the 1.0 TCe petrol with 89 HP (66 kW / 90 PS), the 1.0 TCe Bi-Fuel with 99 HP (74 kW / 100 PS) the 1.3 TCe petrol with either 128 HP (96 kW / 130 PS) or 148 HP (110 kW / 150 PS), and the 1.5 dCi diesel with 113 HP (85 kW / 115 PS). The diesel is the only engine that is also available with the 4×4 system, with the rest of the lineup being FWD-only. Finally, the EDC six-speed automatic can only be combined with the most powerful 1.3 TCe.

The automaker has already opened order books, with the first deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2023. Pricing ranges from £18,295 ($21,074) all the way up to £22,445 ($25,876), representing a slight increase compared to the outgoing model and becoming the new “most expensive Dacia ever”. However, we must note that the Duster Extreme SE might lose this title to the new Duster Mat Edition which was recently announced with a limited production run.
