There are a few cars that I have loved since I was a very young child. If I’m honest, though, the first vehicle I ever fell in love with was a fire truck, and I doubt I’m alone. This, then, is your opportunity to really make a childhood dream come true.

The absolutely adorable 1996 Honda Acty Crawler Fire Truck is now for sale on Bring a Trailer, and is offered without reserve. Imported by the seller in 2022, the truck is powered by a miniscule 656 cc inline-three that is mated to a four-speed manual transaxle.

Those three mighty cylinders send their power through a locking differential and a Real Time four-wheel-drive system. Normally, that would be enough information, but for this six-wheeled vehicle, the ones that receive power are the foremost and rearmost wheels.

The middle wheels, meanwhile, can be hooked up to the back wheels by removable tank treads, which only serve to make this even more of a childhood dream vehicle. The manual transaxle has an ultra-low forward and revers gears, which, in combination with the treads, could make it a decent little off-roader.

Perhaps the best fact about the 1996 Honda Acty, though, is that this wasn’t some toy, it was actually used for fire service in Japan! Allegedly one of just five ever built for the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, its three-axle design was deemed ideal for the event’s rugged terrain.

In addition, it has mounts for fire gear, a siren system, emergency lighting, a PA system, and a factory radio, which isn’t helpful for fire fighting duties, but should make a more enjoyable vehicle to actually drive.

The top speed of this mighty beast is not stated, but the speedometer goes all the way to 130 km/h (81 mph), while the odometer, meanwhile, shows just 3,600 km (2,237 miles). Now for sale on Bring a Trailer, you’ll have to get your bid in before February 28 at 5:32 p.m. to have a chance to win this spectacular vehicle.
