The sixth generation of the Opel Astra recently received a warm hatch version in the form of the electrified GSe and predictably, German tuner Irmscher took notice. The Opel Astra GSe can now be fitted with a beefier bodykit alongside a selection of wheels and interior upholstery options.

Irmscher had already presented a tuning kit for the regular Opel Astra, so it is no surprise that the GSe gets a similar treatment. The highlight is the new front splitter, which in combination with the side skirts and the rear bumper extension makes the Astra look like a proper hot hatch. At the back, there is a diffuser and a larger rear spoiler. The aero components are body-colored and feature black inserts.

The tuner offers a range of alloy wheels and performance tires. Among those are the 19-inch Cosmo Star alloy wheels with a diamond polished or black finish, the 19-inch High Star wheels, or the more sensible 18-inch Turbo Star wheels. Finally, you can get the black decals on the profile featuring Irmscher lettering.

Opel Astra GSe Gains Sportier Looks And Lowered Suspension By Irmscher

In the official renderings, the model benefits from a lowered suspension bringing it 25 mm (1 inch) closer to the ground. Note that the stock Opel Astra GSe is already lowered by 10 mm (0.4 inches) compared to the lesser trims right from the factory, thanks to the version-specific suspension with unique springs and oil-filled Koni FSD dampers. Opel combines the sportier chassis with a different calibration for the steering and the ESP so Irmscher didn’t bother to change those.

There are no changes in the plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Opel Astra GSe comes fitted with a turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine and a single electric motor producing a combined 222 hp (165 kW / 225 PS) of power and 360 Nm (265.5 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to the front axle through an eight-speed automatic gearbox

As for the interior, the tuner proposes fine leather upholstery for the seats and the door cards, available in different colors. These can be combined with velour carpets, and stainless steel door sills. All of the modifications are available for both the hatchback and the more practical ST bodystyle, and for all powertrain types of the Opel Astra. This means they apply to the petrol, diesel, PHEV, and fully electric models.
