A unique version of the Alpine A110 GT4 Evo has been teased ahead of its competitive debut at June’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The darkened teaser shows that significant aerodynamic modifications have been made to the A110 GT4 Evo. The most obvious changes are visible at the rear of the race car where there is a towering wing and a prominent shark fin connecting the wing to the roof.

Alpine notes that the car “features imposing aerodynamic appendages to keep it stuck to the ground.” The upgraded model has been designed through Alpine’s design office with the help of Signatech engineers and technicians. The car will compete in the Time Attack 1 category and will be rear-wheel drive.

This year’s will mark Alpine’s first time participating in ‘the race to the clouds.’ Driving the car will be Raphaël Astier who won the 2022 FIA R-GT Cup with the Alpine A110 Rally. Astier has also competed at Pikes Peak on four previous occasions and in his third participation, set a record for the Time Attack 1 class.

“Pikes Peak is a legendary race that I have always dreamed about, and I am thrilled to return there for the fifth time in my career,” Astier said. “It is an honor to be part of this adventure initiated by Alpine and Signatech after two years of competition with the Alpine A110 Rally. I am extremely proud to be the driver chosen for this programme and I look forward to bringing all my experience and knowledge to the brand’s first-ever Pikes Peak participation. While winning the overall classification is not the target, I am confident our A110 GT4 Evo will perform well in its class, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in this first attempt!”
