Following the example of Maybach and Rolls-Royce, French automaker DS Automobiles got inspired by the world of haute-couture for a new special edition. The new “Esprit de Voyage”, French for “the spirit of travel”, is the new flagship trim level for the DS 4 compact hatchback and the DS 7 SUV, featuring new materials and color combinations inspired by the fashion industry.

Starting with the DS 4, the model gets 19-inch Cannes diamond cut alloy wheels finished in Anthracite Grey, “Esprit De Voyage” graphics on the mirror caps, and gloss black accents all around the bodywork. It is available in Velvet Red, Platinum Grey, Pearl Crystal, Perla Nera Black, Pearl White, and Lacquered Grey exterior shades combined with a bi-tone Perla Nera Black roof.

Inside, the Pebble Grey Nappa leather upholstery is combined with Nixon Grey accents, and the special edition’s signature graphic is embossed on the dashboard and door sills. There is a long list of standard features, including the DS Iris System infotainment, extended head-up display, matrix LED headlights, acoustic laminated windows, plus heated, massaging, and ventilated seats.

Moving on to the DS 7 Esprit De Voyage, it is available in Sapphire Blue, Pearl White, Pearl Crystal, Lacquered Grey, Platinum Grey, and Perla Nera Black with gloss black accents, 19-inch Oyama alloy wheels and the same laser-etched pattern on the mirror caps. The interior is again upholstered in Pearl Grey Nappa leather and features all the available comfort and tech goodies.

In terms of powertrains, the DS 4 Esprit De Voyage is available in petrol (1.2 PureTech 130), diesel (1.5 BlueHDi 130), and plug-in hybrid (E-Tense 225) flavors, while the larger and more expensive DS 7 Esprit De Voyage only comes in electrified form (E-Tense 225 and E-Tense 4×4 300).

The DS 4 and DS 7 Esprit De Voyage are already available to order on four continents around the world. In the UK, pricing starts from £37,330 ($44,323) for the DS 4 and from £50,090 ($59,473) for the DS 7.
