A recent car crash involving a Ford Mustang has left many shaken. While some details of the crash are still unknown, what is clear is that the pony car sustained significant damage and appears to be completely totaled. Despite the severity of the accident, the driver of the Mustang was fortunate enough to escape with their life.

The footage captured by the YouTube channel Onscene TV shows a severely damaged 5.0-liter Ford wedged under the side of a tractor-trailer, displaying the horrific aftermath of the accident. The front of the car, including the passenger side of the cabin, is lodged underneath the cargo container.

The accident took place near Anaheim, California on the westbound side of the 91 freeway, just west of Glassell St. According to the police report, motorists helped the driver out of the car before the fire department arrived on the scene. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is still investigating the accident.

What caused the crash is still unclear. Onscene TV says that the driver lost control and ultimately ended up under the big rig. The report also says that a third vehicle was involved as well though there’s no evidence of it on film.

By the looks of the video, it does seem plausible that the Mustang lost control before crashing into the truck. Evidence at the scene might indicate that the Ford hit the truck while both were in motion. Notice the skid marks and gouges that lead to the final position of the pony car that could be there due to be dragged by the truck to the side of the road.

Regardless of how the accident went down, we’re glad to hear that the driver survived. Perhaps the most painful part of the entire incident is watching and hearing as this once mighty Ford is dragged out from underneath the semi-truck.

Seeing the carnage on the back windshield and in the passenger side of the cabin is a stark reminder that this accident could’ve been a lot worse in a number of ways.
