Fisker has unveiled a production-intent version of the all-electric Pear at its store in Los Angeles and while it looks largely the same as the vehicle first previewed back in August, it has undergone some alterations to better reflect the model customers will be able to buy.

A key exterior difference of the production-intent Pear is the more advanced headlights. These thin LED units are connected by an intricate LED light bar and an illuminated Pear emblem in the center. The Pear displayed in Los Angeles has also been equipped with traditional wing mirrors as opposed to the cameras of the concept.

The biggest update has been made to the cabin. Fisker has unveiled its new “see-through A-pillar” design. The system uses small cameras mounted to the exterior of the A-pillars that send their feed to a pair of portrait-oriented screens. Fisker says this system has been designed to “improve driver awareness and pedestrian safety when the vehicle is making a left-hand turn,” allowing you to see what would ordinarily be hidden by the A-pillar. It seems like an overly complex solution to a small issue that can be avoided by simply moving your head in any other car.

A number of other changes have been made to the cabin. One of them is the removal of the relatively small infotainment display on the dashboard and the fitment of the same massive portrait screen of the Ocean. We presume this screen can also be positioned horizontally like it can in the Ocean but it still seems a little too big for our taste. In August, Fisker said this 17.1-inch display would be an option. Here’s hoping that is still the case.

Fisker has also showcased the Pear’s ‘Houdini’ trunk. Rather than equipping it with a traditional tailgate, the tailgate and rear window slide underneath the floor of the trunk.

We don’t know yet the full technical and powertrain details about the Pear. Fisker has said that two battery packs will be available offering 180 miles (290 km) and 320 miles (515 km) of range respectively while both single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD versions will also be offered.

In other news, Fisker has revealed that it delivered a record 107 vehicles on November 16 thanks to a revised distribution strategy with more transportation logistics partners. Additionally, customers who live within 60 miles (96 km) of a Fisker fulfillment location can have their vehicle driven by a Fisker employee to them for delivery.
