Whenever I pass a semi on the highway, I still recall with a shudder a scene from the 2003 major motion picture “2 Fast 2 Furious.” That scene is the one in which a red Mustang is dragged under the wheels of a semi and crushed.

If you, too, remember that scene with a wince, this is your opportunity to try and conquer a fear, by buying the 2002 Ford Mustang that was one of five used in the filming of “2 Fast 2 Furious.” Moreover, it is believed to be the very model used for crushing scene.

Naturally, that means that it isn’t all original, but repair work on the Mustang was completed by Mason’s Hotrods and Hobbies in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It is now offered with just 585 miles (941 km) on the odometer.

Finished in an eye-catching shade called Liz-Stick-Red, the model is equipped with a variety of Saleen S281 modifications. That includes a carbon fiber hood, center exhaust, and a branded rear bumper, to leave no one in doubt about its performance chops.

Under the hood, it gets a 4.6-liter V8, which is topped with a “2F2F” plate. It powers the rear wheels via an automatic transmission. It also gets a variety of performance mods from Saleen, including uprated brakes, suspension, and seats.

One of 120 cars used in the filming of “2 Fast 2 Furious,” this Mustang is a great buy for any collectors in the market for a piece of Hollywood history. It comes with a copy of the title issued to FF2 Productions, and is offered for sale at Mecum’s 2024 Kissimmee auction. Estimates predict that it will sell for between $60,000 and $90,000.
