More Ford fans will have the opportunity to see the insane SuperVan 4.2 over the coming six weeks as it continues its tour Down Under, taking to some of the nation’s most famous racetracks and exciting enthusiasts.

The all-electric van arrived in Australia late last week and was quickly put to the test at Sydney Motorsport Park. It will make its debut at this weekend’s Repco Bathurst 12 Hour before completing demonstration runs at the Thrifty Bathurst 500 Supercars season opener the following weekend. Piloting the car across both of these weekends will be acclaimed racing driver Romain Dumas.

Next month, Ford will take the SuperVan 4.2 to the Adelaide Motorsport Festival running from March 15-17 and be driven by a handful of special guests. It will then continue its high-powered journey across the country and hit the Albert Park circuit on the Thursday before the Australian Grand Prix. Race fans will be able to view it as part of the Ford Performance Experience display throughout the weekend. It will be displayed alongside the new Mustang Dark Horse and a Mustang Mach-E GT.

“Ford is on an exciting electrification pathway, and SuperVan 4.2 is a great illustration of what electrified performance can mean,” Ford Australia president and chief executive Andrew Birkic said. “With more stops added to the SuperVan tour in Australia, EV and performance fans around the country will be given an opportunity to see this feat of engineering and the next-level performance it delivers.”

Ford unveiled the new-and-improved SuperVan 4.2 at last year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It features a trio of electric motors that combine to produce 1,400 hp and thanks to the insane bodywork, produces an impressive 4,400 lbs (1,995 kg) of downforce at 150 mph (242 km/h).
