The Audi Q4 e-tron has been updated for the 2024 model year in the United States and gone is the Q4 50 e-tron variant. Sitting in its place is the new Q4 55 e-tron with better performance, more range, but the same starting price.

Audi only lifted the veil on the updated 2024 Q4 e-tron a few months ago and the range continues to start from $49,800 for the entry-level Q4 40 e-tron. However, it is the new Q4 55 e-tron that is perhaps the more compelling model as it starts at $55,200, the same as the old Q4 50 e-tron. What updates do you get?

Like the Q4 40 e-tron, the Q5 55 e-tron is powered by an 82 kWh battery pack but uses a pair of electric motors to deliver a combined 335 hp, or 40 hp more than the old Q4 50 e-tron. This added grunt allows both the standard and Sportback variants to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.0 seconds, down from the 5.8 seconds of the old model.

New Audi Q4 55 e-Tron Replaces 50 With 40 HP Boost And Enhanced Range

Audi says the new rear motor of the Q5 55 e-tron has better thermal management to improve efficiency and includes a water-cooling jacket on the outside of the stator. While extra power in an EV is typically associated with less range, that’s not the case here. In fact, the range of the new model has been boosted by 22 miles (35 km) to 258 miles (415 km).

Improvements have also been made to the suspension and steering tune to provide greater comfort, better dynamic driving, and greater stability. The new EV can also be equipped with 21-inch wheels wrapped in 235/45 front and 255/40 rear all-season tires. Audi has also upped maximum DC charging power from 150 kW to 175 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80% in just 28 minutes.
