Toyota introduced the 2027 GR86 earlier this week, so it comes as little surprise Subaru is following up with the latest BRZ. However, it appears to eschew a number of updates found on its counterpart.
Subaru didn’t have much to say, but confirmed the 2027 BRZ has an improved EyeSight system with a new wide-angle mono camera for a larger field of view. Furthermore, the range-topping tS now comes equipped with new rear parking sensors.

That’s kind of disappointing as the 2027 GR86 received a number of updates including a new Thunder paint job and an interior with iron black accents on the Premium trim. The coupe also gained a Cockpit Red interior, but that’s essentially what comes standard on the BRZ Limited already.
The GR86 also got a new camera, like the BRZ, but engineers went a step further as they fine-tuned the powertrain. In particular, Toyota said the throttle calibration was modified to deliver a “smoother, more linear response.” The company also “widened the chamfer of the shifter interlock between 4th and 5th gear by approximately 0.02 inches to help deliver a smoother shift feel.”
Subaru didn’t mention similar modifications to the BRZ, so the model presumably eschews them. If so, that’s a little disappointing.
Changes aside, the 2027 BRZ Limited starts at $36,140 before a $1,245 destination fee. That’s an overall increase of $330 as its predecessor began at $35,860 and had a lower $1,195 delivery charge.
The BRZ tS will set you back $40,015 out the door, which is a $460 jump. Most of this is due to an increased MSRP of $38,770.
Both models are powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer engine developing 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque. A six-speed manual comes standard, although a six-speed automatic is available on the Premium for an additional $850.
