Kia introduced the facelifted Niro earlier this year and now the company has announced pricing will begin at $29,890 before a $1,495 destination fee. That’s a sizable jump as its predecessor began at $27,390.
So what does that extra $2,500 get you? A far better looking crossover with a more upscale design and a revised color palette. Buyers will also find an updated interior with a new steering wheel.

The entry-level Niro LX features an acoustic windshield, rear privacy glass, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Buyers will also find a digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a four-speaker audio system. They’re joined by cloth seats, a SynTex-wrapped steering wheel, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system.
The hybrid comes with a host of driver assistance systems including Smart Cruise Control 2, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Blindspot Collision Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist. Other highlights include High Beam Assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Lane Following / Lane Keeping Assist.
For 2027, there’s a new S variant that begins at $30,590. It seems well-worth the extra $700 as it comes equipped with heated, cloth and leather seats featuring 10-way power adjustment on the driver’s side.
While that alone is likely worth the cost of entry, the model also adds rain-sensing wipers, interior “mood lighting,” second-row air vents, and a dual-level cargo floor. Buyers will also find navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go as well as satin chrome interior door handles, instead of painted ones.
The $31,390 Niro EX is surprisingly similar, but it features paddle shifters as well as parking distance warning forward and reverse. That’s not much of a difference, but customers can order a handful of unique options including an eight-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.
The Niro SX jumps to $35,440 and it features LED headlights, LED fog lights, and laminated front windows to help keep the cabin quiet. They’re joined by door handles with satin chrome accents as well as power-folding mirrors. Other niceties include a sunroof and a power liftgate.
The upgrades continue inside with perforated leather front seats featuring heating and ventilation as well as a memory function on the driver’s side. They’re accompanied by a heated steering wheel, an upgraded infotainment system, and LED interior lighting. Customers will also find an auto-dimming rearview mirror, digital key technology, Highway Driving Assist, and the aforementioned Harman Kardon premium audio system.
Lastly, there’s the range-topping Niro SX Touring. It begins at $38,990 and is distinguished by larger 18-inch alloy wheels and a 12.3-inch Supervision digital instrument cluster. Buyers will also find additional driver assistance systems such as Highway Driving Assist 2, a Blind View and Surround View Monitor, and an improved Parking Distance Warning system with side detection. There’s also Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0, which has more advanced safety features.
The 2027 Niro is available exclusively as a hybrid and it features a 1.6-liter four-cylinder developing 139 hp (104 kW / 141 PS) and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to the front wheels.
This enables the Niro to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 10.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 109 mph (175 km/h). More importantly, drivers can expect to get up to 53 mpg city, 46 mpg highway, and 50 mpg combined.
