- Bidding on a brand new 2027 Corvette ZR1X has already exceeded $400,000.
- Unlike most ZR1 and ZR1Xs being sold, this one retains its full factory warranty.
- The car’s insane 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid churns out an extraordinary 1,250 hp.
It’s safe to say that Chevrolet has outdone itself with the Corvette ZR1X. Launched just after the ‘regular’ ZR1 put European supercars on notice, the all-wheel-drive ZR1X arrived with hypercar-rivaling performance at a fraction of the cost. Unsurprisingly, people are willing to pay a pretty premium to get behind the wheel of one.
Prices for the Corvette ZR1X kick off at $209,595 for the Coupe and $219,595 for the Convertible, but those figures rise significantly once you start factoring in some options. This particular 2027 ZR1X, up for auction on Bring a Trailer, has an original price tag of $296,100, and while that’s a lot for a Corvette, bids on this car have already exceeded $400,000.

Just as we saw with the first C8 Corvette ZR1s to hit the used car market, it’s clear there’s extraordinary demand for the ZR1X, and enthusiasts are willing to pay a lot to get behind the wheel of one. Making this one particularly desirable is the dramatic specification and the fact that it has never been sold to a private owner, nor has it been registered. This is important as it means it retains the full factory warranty. By comparison, ZR1 and ZR1X models that are registered and sold within the first 12 months lose all warranty coverage.

The car is painted in black and has been configured with the $13,000 Carbon Fiber Aero package as well as the optional $16,000 carbon fiber wheels. It also rocks red and black racing stripes, while the cabin features mismatched red and black GT2 sport bucket seats. As this is a 2027 model, it includes the updated interior layout with three new screens and a revised tunnel and center console.
Thanks to the ZR1X’s 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, electric motor, and 1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, this beast delivers 1,250 hp and 973 lb-ft of torque. With power sent through all four wheels, the car can run to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 1.68 seconds on a prepped surface and completes the quarter-mile in 8.67 seconds at 159 mph.
While paying almost half a million dollars for a Corvette may sound absurd, the ZR1X out-sprints a Lamborghini Revuelto, which starts at over $600,000, and runs down the quarter-mile almost as quickly as a $3 million Koenigsegg Jesko.
