You Can Now Buy A New Ford Bronco With A 380 HP Turbo V6
The same engine found under the hood of the mighty Raptor
The Raptor-like Bronco RTR isn't the only exciting addition to the 2027 Ford Bronco lineup. Not only is the tweaked Bronco designed to be more comfortable than before and offer more personalization choices, but Ford has also ditched the old 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and made the all-conquering 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 from the flagship Raptor available on other Bronco models.
This twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 delivers 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque in the Raptor, making it one of the most potent off-roaders on the market. Admittedly, it doesn't quite match the 6.4-liter V8 of the Wrangler 392 with its 470 hp and 470 lb-ft, but you can't criticize the Raptor of being slow. Now, the 3.0-liter is available with the Bronco Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage, and all-new Filson model with its exclusive leather. Perhaps the only bad news is that the twin-turbo V6 has been detuned to 380 hp in these versions, although torque remains unchanged at 440 lb-ft.
A new engine and more luxury
Ford hasn't announced pricing details for the 2027 Bronco family, so we don't yet know whether this new engine will bring with it a bump in price. Even if it does, we suspect some shoppers will be happy to pay a premium. After all, the 3.0-liter easily out-muscles the old 2.7-liter EcoBoost, which was capped at 315 hp and 410 lb-ft on premium fuel. It appears the entry-level Bronco and Big Bend models will retain the familiar turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-4.
Changes made to the 2027 Bronco extend beyond the new engine. Big Bend models equipped with the Mid Package now include a heated steering wheel. Ford added a new type of premium vinyl seats to the Bronco Outer Banks with the optional Lux Package. It's also equipped Badlands models with improved Marine Grade Vinyl and, for the first time on this variant, a power-adjustable driver's seat.
The 2027 Bronco range also features a new color in Neptune Blue, which replaces Velocity Blue. The Bronco Filson, revealed in June 2026, will be offered in two exclusive colors dubbed Field Green and Iron Sands Metallic. Though, none of these options come close to the factory-backed work from Ford with its Custom Garage business.
