The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the most polarizing vehicles of our time, largely due to its unconventional silhouette and the lack of curves on its stainless steel body. Besides grabbing the attention of onlookers, owners have another thing to worry about that has to do with maintenance costs — the tires. Changing the rubber on your Tesla pickup truck requires a higher budget than your average full-size truck, and can exceed the $2,000 mark on flagship trims. Furthermore, the Cybertruck's tires might need to be replaced sooner than expected due to its immense weight and torque figures.

Of course this is not limited to Tesla, as the Rivian R1T suffers from similar issues. According to Tesla's manual, the entry-level Cybertruck with 18-inch wheels wears all-season Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT rubber (285/70R18). Stepping up to 20-inch wheels, you can either have all-season Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires (285/65R20), or the heavier-duty Goodyear Wrangler Territory R/T (LT285/65R20). The latter feature a bespoke sidewall design tailored for the wheel covers of the Cybertruck. Finally, owners in cold regions can opt for the 20-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac R/T.

So, how much do they cost?

The cheapest 18-inch Cybertruck option costs $1,474 per set from independent retailers, while the heavy-duty 20-inch tires with the unique design will set you back $2,120 if you buy it directly from Tesla. An OEM 20-inch Core Wheel and Pirelli Winter Tire Package is priced at $3,650, but you'll need an extra $320for the wheel covers.

Cybertruck owners looking outside factory options have access to a greater variety. Searching at Tire Rack for Cybertruck-compatible rubber, we found prices starting from $996 for an Advanta ATX 20-inch set and climbing to $2,149 for a set of Goodyear Wrangler Territory R/T 20-inch tires. Tesla tuner Unplugged Performance offers tire sets starting at $1,728 for the 18-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 and climbing to $3,164 for 24-inch Nitto Recon Grappler rubber (295/45R24). The same company also sells complete wheel-and-tire packages ranging from $3,957 to $11,195 per set of four.

Cybertruck tires versus the competition

While we covered the prices of Tesla Cybertruck tires, it's worth noting how they compare with the rest of the full-size truck competition. Starting with ICE-powered models, tire changes can be significantly cheaper. A 17-inch Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 set for the updated 2027 Ford F-150 starts at $480, while the 18-inch Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport costs $574 per set. Similarly, 18-inch options for the Chevy Silverado start at $621, for the Ram 1500 at $688, and for the Toyota Tundra at $492.

If you stick to 18-inch wheels, one of the most expensive options for the aforementioned trucks is the Toyo Tires Open Country M/T (LT275/70R18) priced at $1,715 per set. The electric Rivian R1T is closer to Tesla territory with a cost of $2,216 per set of 22-inch Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 SUV winter tires or up to $5,981 for one of the available wheel-and-tire sets on the official website. In any case, the cost of tire changes is something you need to consider before ordering the largest model in the Tesla lineup, or a similarly-sized electric truck.
