It’s not uncommon to see stripped-out cars on the streets of Detroit, Michigan but this particular video, showing a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat that had been stripped of almost all its parts, is especially eye-opening.

Details surrounding the incident aren’t known but it appears likely that the Challenger was stolen before a gang of thieves proceeded to strip it and then dumped it on the side of a residential street. The thieves clearly knew what they were doing as they managed to remove all of the most valuable parts, leaving nothing behind other than the car’s shell and some body panels.

For starters, both the front and rear fascias of the car have been removed, including the headlights and taillights. Additionally, the passenger side door has been taken and every single interior part has been removed, including the steering wheel, seats, and dashboard. Indeed, all that’s left of the cabin is some carpeting and the driver’s door panel.

Of course, the key highlight of the Hellcat is its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 so it comes as no surprise that it too has been removed, indicating that it was quite an organized theft that must have necessitated the use of an engine crane. While we can’t see if the 8-speed automatic transmission has been taken as well, we think it’s safe to assume that it too is gone.

It’s clear that those involved in the theft and disassembly of the Dodge knew that trying to drive around in or sell a stolen vehicle is not a good idea and instead decided to take all of the valuable parts before likely selling them, making it harder for authorities to track them down.
