A Domino’s Pizza franchise in Swindon, UK, will now deliver its hot goods around town with a pair of Renault Twizy electric cars.

Besides showing the shop’s environmental concerns, the Twizy will likely boost the image of the local pizzeria – at least until everybody is accustomed to its strange looks and it becomes yesterday’s news…

“We are extremely happy with our Twizys as for us they are the perfect run around for delivering our piping hot pizzas quickly, responsibly and most importantly with minimal running costs,” said James Swift, franchisee of Domino’s in Swindon. “They are quite a head turner too, so it creates a great buzz for us as we like to do things differently.”

The French carmaker’s 1+1 tandem-seat electric city car with scissor doors measures less than two and a half metres in length and one and a half metres in width. In base form, it makes do with a 13kW (17hp) electric motor with a limited top speed of around 50 mph (80km/h) fed by battery giving an official range of up to 60 miles (96 kilometers).
