Stuffing a 6.2-liter V12 from the Lamborghini Murcielago onto the rear axle (and much of the interior) of an old Fiat 500 sounds like a job for a very determined mechanic. Finding the necessary space to fit such a big engine inside a tiny bodywork like the 500’s can be quite a discouraging enterprise.

However, the job was nothing that the the crew at Oemmedi Meccanica couldn’t handle, with the Italian aftermarket specialists successfully turning one of the world’s most “peaceful” cars into an absolute beast.

You can see how the “beast” looks and sounds in the following videos, which also show track footage from the “childhood” of the same Fiat 500, back when it had a 3.0-liter Ferrari V8 as a heart.

As you can see from the clip, the little beast is not very easy to tame – one can imagine what the “adult” V12 version must be like on the track. Unfortunately, there’s no such footage with the V12 500, but we get to see the Fiat 500 in its “infancy” when it was fitted with a Porsche flat-six engine…

We wonder what will come next for the Fiat 500, a jet engine, maybe?
