It’s such a shame that Porsche didn’t pursue the design concept of 928 and evolve it further, so that nowadays it would not have felt the need to give every single one of its cars a variation of a 911 face… The 928 is a car you buy for its looks and its V8 that can displace anywhere from 4.5-liters to 5.4-liters.

The 1979 example you see here finished in red has the smallest of the engines (219 hp stock), and the purest body shape of all. It has no spoilers or add-on lower bumpers – the wheels it is riding on could even be called skinny by today’s standards; but they work really well and are original.

In the eBay ad, the seller, who’s from New York state, says the car’s covered almost 26,000 miles and it’s even speculated on Bring a Trailer that it may have belonged to Bill Cosby from new up until recently.

By that we assume we should expect an interior to match the apparently spotless condition of the exterior – the photos posted in the gallery below would seem to indicate so.
