On Saturday, June 14, at 3:00 PM local time, the 82nd 24 Hours of Le Mans race will begin, with the most significant event being Porsche’s official return as a works team with the 919 Hybrid prototype.
To mark the event, sister brand Audi thought it would be a good idea to shoot a welcome back video, so it took a trip from its hometown of Ingolstadt to Porsche’s home city of Stuttgart with its R18 e-tron quattro race car.
Having arrived at Porsche’s headquarters, the Audi R18 starts making some “donuts” on the asphalt writing a welcome back message.
But don’t think Audi is very excited about having to compete against Porsche in the top LMP1 category. The sequence in which the R18 overtakes a Porsche… tractor on its way to Stuttgart says a lot about Audi’s true feelings. Scroll down to watch the video.
