It’s not an M5, a 535is or even a 535i and it does come with the automotive equivalent of dental braces in their worst form, no thanks to the government-mandated U.S.-spec bumpers, but how often do you find an example of the last shark-nosed BMW 5-Series with 37,820 miles (60,853 km) on the odometer offered for sale?

The 528e’s 2.7-liter “High Efficiency” M20 6-Cylinder engine won’t exactly wow you with its performance figures at 121hp (122PS) and 171 lb-ft (232 N·m) of peak torque, but we’re happy to tell you that all those ponies are directed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual and a (25%) limited slip differential.

It’s a one owner model, and from the pictures, it looks pretty nice for a 29 year old vehicle.

“Purchased new and adult owned, this outstanding example of a 1985 BMW 528e belongs in a museum!,” says the seller. “It has been kept in a heated garage its entire life and it shows!  The paint is excellent, the upholstery is excellent, the original stereo is fully functional, the trunk liner is mint, even the factory original first aid kit is unmolested.”

There are still 6 days left to bid on ebay, with the highest offer currently standing at $8,000.
