Honda’s Chinese venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co. pulled the proverbial wraps off their new XR-V small crossover at the Chengdu Motor Show today.

It has a different name and slightly altered looks on the surface, but otherwise, the XR-V is the Chinese market-specification of the North American HR-V, Japanese Vezel and the as-of-yet, unnamed version scheduled to go on sale in Europe next year.

The 4,275mm long, 1,770mm wide and 1,605mm tall crossover rides on a 2,610mm wheelbase and will soon launch in China with a choice of two gasoline engines with 1.5-liter and 1.8-liter displacements.

Interestingly, Honda’s designers made several changes to the XR-V’s front and rear ends on the exterior, and the instrument panel and dashboard inside over the Vezel – we still haven’t seen what the HR-V’s interior looks like.
