We absolutely love stories of people reunited with their old cars, especially if they had been stolen. This latest story is really beautiful: how many people would expect to get their stolen car back after 43 years?

Well, it did happen to a woman called Terry Dietrich, who has recently been reunited with her dream car 43 years after it had been stolen. When she turned 19, Dietrich bought a brand new 1972 Corvette Stingray with money from her first job.

Unfortunately, her dream car was stolen only six months later from her office parking lot. Needless to say, as time went by, her hopes of recovering her beloved car vanished. Fast forward to 2015 and a North Carolina car restorer who bought a 1972 Corvette Stingray noticed that the VIN number on the title didn’t match the one stamped on the body and engine.

This is how the car was found and, with a little help from Dietrich’s insurance company, she got her Corvette back.
