The North West 200 is a motorcycle race held every May in Northern Ireland. It might not be the Isle of Man TT, but the speeds achieved by the riders and the perils they put themselves through are just as great.

The action takes place on a street circuit made up of public roads, which means that the sense of speed is even greater, especially as we’re talking about portions that facilitate velocities in excess of 200 mph (320 km/h). What makes this competition one of a kind though, is that unlike the Isle of Man TT – which uses a time-trial format – in the North West 200 all riders compete together like on a circuit.

Unfortunately, like any other dangerous racing event, the North West 200 took a toll on many riders, but you’ll immediately see the seriousness of this event from the moment you hit the play button.

The footage takes you onboard John Burrows’s beast as he blasts through the chicanes while regularly hitting maximum speed. It’s a sight to behold, especially as the video is in a 360° format.
