The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat may have 707 hp on tap as standard but even that isn’t enough for Hennessey Performance, who have just announced their HPE1000 package for the car.

The comprehensive upgrade manages to increase power to a Bugatti Veyron-beating 1,032 hp at 6,500 rpm and 987 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a claimed 0-96 km/h (60 mph) sprint of 2.7 seconds and a 9.9 second quarter mile when running on drag radial tires.

These insane figures have been achieved thanks to a long list of modifications. Some of the key upgrades include the implementation of two ball bearing turbochargers running at 15 psi and working in conjunction with the standard supercharger. Additionally, a new high-flow air to water intercooler system has been fitted as have stainless steel turbo headers and downpipes, upgraded high-flow fuel injectors and a tuned ECU.

Strangely, Hennessey doesn’t make mention of any transmission upgrades on its website, but considering the massive horsepower and torque gains, we’d suspect the gearbox has been upgraded and strengthened.

Beyond the mechanical changes, HPE1000 customers will receive custom badges, distinctive floor mats from Hennessey and serial numbered plaques.
