Volkswagen and Beats got together to create a new premium sound system for the compact Up and Polo models.

The new 300W audio system features an 8-channel amplifier with a digital signal processor and seven high-end loudspeakers: two tweeters in the A-pillars, two woofers in the front doors, two broadband speakers in the back and a subwoofer sitting in the spare wheel well.

“Hardly any other brand name stands for the attitude to life of generation Facebook like ‘Beats’,” said Jürgen Stackmann, member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Passenger Cars responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales. “The strong brand image of ‘Beats’ helps us to address a younger target group.”

The new audio system will equip two new special editions as standard; both the Up Beats and the Polo Beats will distinguish themselves from lesser models with various features like bigger alloys, special decals and trendy details in the cabin.

The VW Up Beats wears a set of 15-inch ‘Radial’ alloy wheels, contrasting door mirror caps while the cabin features a specially designed dashpad, door sill plates and color-coordinated seat belts.

The VW Polo Beats features 16-inch ‘Syenit’ alloy wheels and a gloss black front grille on the outside while the interior gains special Beats-design seats and door trim panels, colored seat belts and a leather steering wheel. VW didn’t release any photos of this special edition, so we might have to wait until next week to see it.

The new special editions of the VW Up and Polo will make their debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
