Why oh why do video directors ever think that it’s a good idea to partially cover sports car engine sounds with a music blanket?

Case in point, Aston’s new DB11 clip that only gives us a hint of what its twin-turbo V12 sounds like.

Paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox, the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine propels the new DB11 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and all the way up to a top speed of km/h (200 mph), making the DB11 the most powerful DB model ever produced.

The vehicle, which was described as “the most important car that Aston Martin has launched […] in its 103-year existence“, by the firm’s CEO, Andy Palmer, has a 2+2 layout, but there is now more room in the back compared to its predecessor, the DB9, while the Daimler partnership brought the latest technology to the cabin.

Sporting the same wheels and tires as the ones fitted on the DB10 seen in the James Bond Spectre movie, the car has a starting price of £154,900 in the UK, while on US shores, buyers will have to pay $211,995.
