Billed as the first car in the United States to offer semi-autonomous driving tech, the new Volvo S90 goes on sale from $46,950.

Powered by a 250hp T5 turbocharged Drive-E, the base model comes with LED headlights, a leather interior and 9-inch Sensus touchscreen as standard.

Those looking for something more potent, can go for the S90 T6 AWD Momentum, which starts from $52,950. It takes power from a T6 turbocharged and supercharged Drive-E engine, rated at 316 HP, connected to an 8-speed auto and all-wheel drive. In addition to the standard features found on the T5, it adds dual integrated tailpipes, large driver information display area and heated front seats.

Besides the semi-autonomous driving technology, which allows the car to brake, steer, speed up and slow down at speeds up to 80 mph (~130 km/h), Volvo’s flagship sedan is also offered with Large Animal Detection and Run-Off Road Mitigation, at no extra cost.

You can buy the new S90 online too, through the Volvo Concierge, available at the firm’s website, where a representative will inform customers about their options, allowing them to change the features before the car is built.

Future owners of the S90 will be in constant contact with Volvo’s Concierge, which will tell them when the car has been shipped from Sweden and when it is expected to arrive. At delivery, its settings can be configured based on the owner’s personal preferences. All cars processed by Concierge will be delivered through “a Volvo retailer of choice“.
