The compact electric car from France has found its 50,000th owner, three years after its original launch.

The black Zoe marked an important landmark for the French company with Guillaume Berthier, Electric Car Sales and Marketing Director, delivering the keys to the happy owner at a special ceremony in Renault’s Flins plant near Paris.

The small electric vehicle sold a total of 18,500 units last year in Europe for an impressive market share of 20% and over 55% in France.

With a real-life driving range of up to 106 miles during the summer and 71 miles during the winter, the Renault Zoe can be used easily for the everyday commuting, while the battery’s ability to fully charge from flat in three to four hours with a fast charger adds further points to the practicality of this affordable EV.

It’s no wonder that existing customers say that they are satisfied by a staggering 98% according to Renault’s data, showing that you don’t need Tesla money to experience the benefits of an EV today.
