If you’ve placed an order for a VLF Destino, now would be a good time to clean your garage, as deliveries of the V8-powered car have just begun.

One of the first examples to have been unloaded from a trailer has arrived to its rightful owner, VLF founding partner and gearhead Bob Lutz, as DetroitNews writes, joining other rare vehicles found in his possession, including a 1952 Cunningham C4-R and a 1971 Monteverdi.

I’m over the moon with how the car turned out dynamically – steering, brakes and, of course, Corvette ZR-1 power, coupled with the convenience of a paddle-shifter automatic. I’m really happy with color and trim, as well as spectacular proportions“, the 84-year old man said.

To those of you who are not familiar with the VLF Destino, we will remind you that it is a new interpretation of the Fisker Karma, with minor visual updates, signed by none other than Henrik Fisker himself, who is in charge of the automaker’s design and product strategy departments.

The Grand Tourer has an aluminum body and spaceframe and is powered by the previous Corvette ZR1’s  supercharged LS9 V8 that pumps out 638 HP and 604 pound-feet (819 Nm) of torque, enough to propel it from naught to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds and up to a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).

With deliveries of the high-performance car undergoing, we should hear from it in the near future, as another customer is a “well-known music celebrity”, as VLF Automotive states. Rumor has it that Carlos Santana fell for the Destino and is now waiting for his very own example, after he paid the sticker price of $229,000.
