The Blue Oval is enjoying an increased popularity for its high-performance vehicles in the Old Continent and the latest-gen Focus RS is at the top of the list.

Its starting price of £29,995 ($43,565) in Britain hasn’t scared buyers away, who are eager to get their hands on the 350 PS (345 HP) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque machine that is capable of going from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds.

While the initial batch estimated to be around 4,000 units has already been spoken for, Ford continues to take orders for the hot hatch, while negotiating with other European markets to increase production for the right-hand drive version. According to Autocar, the company is looking to add another 1,000 units on sale in the UK, but in order for this to happen, the automaker will have to take them from other parts of Europe, as the plant in Germany is already working at full capacity.

In the meantime, those who have placed a deposit for Ford’s new Focus RS will have to wait eight months before the manufacturer will start shipping them, though, recent info suggests that the waiting list could span up to 12-14 months.
