Jaguar emerged seven times victorious on Circuit de la Sarthe, so the car maker decided to celebrate the feat by bringing 100 cars to the Le Mans Classic.

Seeing an old Jaguar racer in the flesh is quite an amazing treat, but imagine seeing 65 pre-1966 racing Jaguars and then some, all on the famous 8.5-mile (13,6 km) French Circuit. Does it account for a record grid? Probably, as all cars took part in the Le Mans Classic round of the Jaguar Classic Challenge.

Part of the parade before the race began, were the British car maker’s top notch products, ranging from a dozen SVR F-Types to the extremely rare and coveted unique Le Mans prototypes, including the one-off XJ13 and the 1988-winning Silk Cut XJR-9. Among them, enthusiasts could gaze upon C, D and E-types (lightweight and low-drag included), not to mention the exquisite XK120s and XK150s models.

The gathering, and the race that followed, concluded with Andy Wallace – Le Mans winner outright for Jaguar in 1988 – emerging once again on the podium. He wowed the crowd in his ’88-winning XJR-9 during the “100 Jaguar” parade lap, finished 3rd overall in the Jaguar Classic Challenge and won his class racing a 1955 D-type. Following the event, we were left with a fantastic gallery to drool over.
