More than six months after Iris Mittenaere was crowned Miss France 2016, her biggest gift arrived in the form of a small SUV supplied not by an avid fan, but Peugeot itself.

The brand, which has been a partner of the contest for quite some time now, gave the 23-year old brunette, who enjoys dancing, gymnastics, going to the theater and riding horses, a 2008 finished in red.

The redesigned 2008 was launched in Geneva four months ago with more rugged appearance, a fresh infotainment system with Apple CarPlay compatibility and several optional features such as a panoramic glass sunroof and leather upholstery.

The vehicle, which is already available for order in selected European markets, has a starting price of €16,050 ($17,777) in France and is almost €500 ($554) cheaper across the northeastern border, in Germany. Consumers can choose between a variety of petrol and diesel engines, with outputs ranging between 75 PS (74 HP) and 130 PS (128 HP).
