Marking its first official public debut, the Skoda Kodiaq made a strong guest appearance at the finale of the Tour de France.

Sporting its new red, grey and black camouflage foil, with facets made of crystal-like elements to mimic the looks of the Red Car Skoda Superb, finished in Corrida Red that served as a mobile control center at the competition, the Kodiak has been getting itself familiar with the event’s home straight, with some nighttime driving on Champs-Elysees.

At the helm on the last day of this year’s cycling competition, which started in Chantilly and ended in Paris, stretching over 113 km (70 miles), was Stephen Roche, an Irish rider who triumphed at the 1987 event and is now a Skoda brand ambassador.

The Skoda Kodiak offers a particularly generous amount of space. Its ride is very pleasant and the car responds to all your commands with a high degree of precision. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Skoda Kodiak on its Tour debut“, said the Irishman.

After completing all 21 stages, 31-year old cyclist Christopher Froome is this year’s Tour de France winner, while the trophies for the best youn rider and best climber in the world’s toughest cycling race were won by Adam Yates and Rafal Majka, respectively.
