With lane splitting now legal in California, riders can go about maneuvering freely through traffic, knowing that the law is on their side.
Generally speaking, we’re all for making room for motorcyclists and not getting in their way in traffic, especially since being on a bike means being more exposed to everything, from the elements to numerous types of possible accidents.
However, when riders take a more aggressive stance, cursing out drivers who might not have even seen them in their rear-view, well, that’s a completely different story.
In other words, flipping people off, revving your engine and threatening the mirrors on their cars just because you didn’t have enough room to split lanes will not help you make any friends. Case in hand, people really took issue with what he did in the comments section on YouTube.
As for his argument about how illegal it is to impede someone’s path in traffic, that’s not at all what happened there, as far as we can tell.
