To anyone who isn’t a fan of NASCAR, the most popular motorsport series in North America is a bit of a conundrum.

On the telly, it looks simple: all the drivers do is barrel around a track consisting solely of two banked left turns and two straights. Easy right? Well it’s not, hence the frequency of crashes and the elite drivers who fill the grid.

Nevertheless, people love to make fun of NASCAR, none more so than The Grand Tour trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. When they were hosting Top Gear, they poked fun at the sport on numerous occasions and, in their latest clip, they’re back at it.

Filmed to help promote the trio’s side-project Drive Tribe, it shows the presenters discussing the tribe formed by professional NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman who says he will report from the front line of motorsports in the U.S. To the trio, that means nothing more than talking about people driving left, straight and then left and straight again.

While Drive Tribe has yet to launch, thousands have already registered to leading their own ‘tribes’, publishing their own creative automotive content.
