Rolls-Royce says that it has no interesting in expanding its range with a model smaller than the Ghost, even though such a car would be viable.

During an interview with Motoring, Rolls-Royce global product communications manager Andrew Boyle said that, although there’s room in the market for a smaller Rolls, it does not intend to roll out such a model.

Boyle cited customers current sanctification with the British brand’s existing models and said that, for the moment, all of its cars need to be powered by V12s.

“We are very happy with the offering that we make today, and I believe our customers are very happy with it as well. The belief and expectation among our customers is that it’s a car that is V12-engined for the moment.”

The marque’s refusal to move down the market comes despite the fact that Bentley has confirmed it will do just that by launching a small sports car.

For now, Rolls-Royce is focusing on the next-generation Phantom, the Cullinan ‘SUV’ and the aluminum platform which will underpin the pair.
