Porsche’s then-finest moment is becoming even better with age and few can argue on that.

The Porsche Carrera GT is a supercar that wasn’t celebrated as much as it deserved back when it was new. It came at a time when high-end supercars were flooding the market, including the Pagani Zonda, the Ford GT and, of course, the Ferrari Enzo.

Porsche even had to stop its production early as they couldn’t find the 1,500 customers originally planned. Next to the dramatic shape of the Ferrari Enzo, it looked sedated and almost boring but today the tables are turned, as the Carrera GT looks more beautiful and muscular than ever.

But it’s not just the looks; It’s everything sitting under the skin that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. A carbon chassis with a motorsport-derived naturally aspirated V10 sitting in the middle and paired to a manual gearbox. In many ways, it’s the perfect recipe for a supercar, especially if it’s engineered by the gods over at Porsche.

Evo magazine has a go in a pristine example, reminding us why the Carrera GT is one of the greatest cars ever made. Turn up the volume because this V10 melody is truly one of a kind.
