Getting a stock Viper to launch the way you want it to is hard enough, let alone one that puts down no less than 1,500 horses through the rear wheels.

You can see in the beginning of the video just how difficult it was for the Viper driver to put all that power down, though once he did, the car ran a 9.8-second quarter mile.

Its top speed over the same distance was 167 mph (268 km/h) during a separate run, but what’s obvious is just how hard it is for this type of car to maintain traction as it builds up speed.

The twin turbo Viper also takes on a Z06 Corvette, which puts up a heck of a good fight, crossing the 1/4 mile marker in 10-seconds flat at 138 mph (222 km/h) – though the fact the Viper barely beat that time while going a lot faster, goes to show just how much it struggled.

In other words, you’ll probably lose a lot of drag races in this thing if you’re going up against a very powerful all-wheel drive opponent.
