A rare and exceptionally desirable 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera RS NGT will be sold by Silverstone Auctions at the company’s sale on October 15.

Expected to sell for between 135,000 pounds and 155,000 pounds ($174,730-$200,616), the Carrera RS NGT is considered as one of the purist road-going 911s ever conceived, so focused it is to the driving experience.

While far from the fastest 911 variant of its time, it puts the driver first, thanks to the manual transmission, stripped-out interior, racing bucket seats, 4-point harnesses and a full welded roll cage. In some respects, it could be considered the precursor to the brand new 911 R, even though it has a different badge.

The car heading for auction has had five owners from new and has 25,00 miles on the clock. It originally called Germany home until 2010 and was then exported to a new owner in Japan. Most recently, it was imported into the United Kingdom where it currently resides.

According to managing director of Silverstone Auctions, “The 964 is often regarded as the all-encompassing true drivers’ 911, and there can be no doubt then that this Carrera RS in NGT specification is one of the most driver-focused and rewarding Porsches you will ever find.”

Power for the car comes courtesy of a 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivering 256 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque.
