Even though these three cars were only brought together to pose for a custom wheels company, we can’t help but take a trip down memory lane in regards to the two classic 911s joining this modern-day Targa.

Before we do that, let’s jump in and look at what each car is wearing in terms of wheels. The 991 Targa is on a set of Brushed Clear HRE P106s, the 993 is sitting on Brushed Gold HRE Classic 300 series wheels, while the 930 Flatnose is on Satin Bronze HRE C103s.

If you ask us, the latter is definitely the most special car here. These “flatnose” or Flachbau 930s were built from 1981 under the company’s special order program, with prices up to 60% more than what you would have paid for a regular 930.

In terms of performance, the fastest 930 Turbo (330 HP) could get up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in as little as 4.8 seconds before maxing out at 278 km/h (173 mph). The 993 Turbo (408 HP) on the other hand could hit the same mark in 4.5 seconds and make it all the way up to 290 km/h (180 mph) – which isn’t really that big of a difference considering they were built 12 years apart.

So how does a modern-day entry level 991 Targa compare? Well, it’s surprisingly similar actually. The RWD model will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds (same as the 993 Turbo), and max out at 287 km/h (178 mph). That’s progress in a nutshell.
