As far as engine swaps go, nothing is off limits as demonstrated by this Porsche Cayman, created by Limitless Motorworks.

Most people will see this project as highly sacrilegious at first but the story behind it will soften the blow for the Porsche purists out there. Speaking of blows, the car blew its original engine during a track day and the owner was looking to replace it with a bigger flat six from a 911 but the costs involved along with a healthy dose of not caring about the purists initiated the build of the Mustang-powered Cayman you see here.

As you would expect, an engine swap of this caliber is not what someone would call a straight instalment; Limitless Motorworks had to move the firewall further to the front and create a new engine bay that would fit the Ford 5.0-litre V8, then figure out a way for the new components to communicate with the existing Porsche electronics and the factory six-speed manual gearbox, and the list goes.

The car itself also comes with a set of KW coilovers, a full custom exhaust and stickier tires. With the regular Porsche Cayman considered one of the sweetest sports cars in the market, it’s only logical that there are so many concerns around this drastic change in the car.
