Opel may have facelifted the Mokka X earlier this year, but they are already working on a second generation.

The replacement of the subcompact SUV is due to hit the assembly lines in Eisenach from 2019, as the company has officially announced.

Part of Opel’s strategy of rolling out 29 new models until the turn of the decade, seven out of which will go on sale next year, the Mokka X will also be joined by new generations of the Corsa and Adam. The superminis are scheduled to roll off the production line in Zaragoza, Spain, in the same year as the subcompact SUV.

Two other important models that will expand the brand’s foray into the SUV segment are the Crossland X and Grandland X, which will be launched in 2017.
