Even though Tesla hasn’t shared much about its upcoming second-generation Roadster model, company boss Elon Musk has already sent out one or two hints.

For starters, Musk admitted that an interesting target would be to have the new Roadster hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 2 seconds. He also added that such an achievement would only count if the car could do it with street legal tires.

In order to get off the line that quickly, the Roadster might also need to be rather small, or at least compact in size, which this rendering from designer Vinicius Buch certainly is.

This study looks a lot less like something that Tesla might actually build, and more like something that should have been in Back to the Future part 2.

In terms of discernible features, we count the LED daytime running lights, the aggressive front fascia, massive wheels, rear-built charging port, small (and removable) windshield, generous frunk and clean dashboard design.

Of course concepts lacking windshields isn’t a new trend. In fact, this car reminds us of something like the Pininfarina Sergio Roadster concept car, unveiled in Geneva in 2013. So while the real next-gen Tesla Roadster will definitely be more practical, driving this quirky little thing would probably put a smile on anyone’s face.
